Narrative
YORK CO., PA – A 41-year-old man died Tuesday after several vehicles struck him on the interstate in north-central York County.
The incident happened midnight and 1 a.m. near mile marker 36 on I-83. This is close to Frogtown and Lewisberry.
Police say the victim had been involved in multi-vehicle accident, which disabled his car. The victim got out of his car, at which point another vehicle crashed into it, causing it to strike the victim. The victim then fell into the northbound lanes of I-83 and was hit by a semi and a van.
Medics transported the victim, identified as Joseph Biswa, to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Officials closed both sides of the interstate for several hours while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
