Narrative
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Three people went to the hospital early Saturday following an accident on the Schuylkill Expressway.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on the westbound side of the I-76 between University Avenue and South Street, which is near both Stewart Field and Rhodes Field.
Police say that a dump truck struck a U-haul, which was stopped along I-76 westbound after an earlier crash with an SUV. The U-haul then struck three people who were standing at the site of the first crash.
One of the three victims is stable at the hospital, while the other two were admitted in critical condition.
A full investigation is underway.
