YORK CO., PA – A 21-year-old woman died, and at least three others sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash along the interstate in north-central York County.
The incident happened around 1:40 a.m. along I-83 southbound at Exit 40A, which is just south of the border between Cumberland and York Counties.
Police haven’t indicated the cause of the crash, but they have said it involved four passenger vehicles and two commercial vehicles.
Officials found the victim deceased at the scene. They’ve not yet disclosed her identity.
Medics transported three other people to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The accident blocked the southbound lanes of I-83 until around 10:30 a.m. while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.
