CHESTER, PA – Two people sustained serious injuries Friday in a chain-reaction rollover collision involving three vehicles and a DUI driver in Chester.
The incident happened around 1:50 a.m. on the northbound side of I-95 near the exit for the Commodore Barry Bridge. This is just northwest of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey state line.
The investigation thus far indicates that a vehicle rear-ended two other vehicles along the interstate. The car that was struck in the second collision overturned and ejected two occupants. Those two people went to the hospital with serious injuries.
The first driver fled the scene of the accident, while the driver of the overturned vehicle was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
The investigation is ongoing.
