Narrative
YARDLEY, PA – A woman died, and a man went to the hospital Sunday after a two-vehicle crash along the interstate in southeast Bucks County.
The accident happened just before 9 p.m. along I-295 near mile marker 5.7. This is in the city of Yardley, about 32 miles northeast of Philadelphia.
Police say that the driver of a 2007 Toyota Matrix lost control of her vehicle at Route 1 and I-295. The vehicle hit a guardrail, spun, and was struck by an eastbound 2020 Volkswagen Jetta.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as 34-year-old Samantha Kaitlin Cote, died after transfer to an area hospital.
Medics transported the 25-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities say that icy road conditions likely caused the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
