Narrative
WEST ELIZABETH, PA – A 36-year-old man suffered serious brain injuries when a hit-and-run driver struck him and his child on their electric scooter Friday night in West Elizabeth.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Robinson and Sixth Street, which is just northwest of the river and south of PA-51.
The investigation indicates that a dark Buick-style SUV failed to honor a stop sign and struck a man and his three-year-old daughter on their electric scooter in the intersection. The SUV then fled the scene.
The man driving the scooter is currently in a coma at a hospital in Pittsburg. The young girl was evaluated at the hospital and released.
Police are looking for the SUV and for a driver they say appeared to be a woman in her 60s. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Elizabeth Police Department.
