ABBOTTSTOWN, PA – Two people sustained injuries Friday in a head-on crash involving a minivan and a semi along the highway in Abbottstown.
Police say the accident happened at 11:18 a.m. in the area of 6700 York Road, or Route 30, which is near The Bridges Golf Club.
Police say that the minivan entered the wrong-side of Route 30 and collided head-on with an 18-wheeler.
Two people became entrapped in the minivan and required extrication. Medics airlifted the driver to an area hospital. A passenger in the minivan also required hospitalization.
Nobody in the semi sustained injuries.
At this time, police suspect that the driver of the minivan may have been intoxicated at the time of the accident.
